About Donnalyn
Donnalyn had a passion for performing when she was a child, winning the lead roles in all of her school plays. After a teacher commented on her talent and encouraged her to pursue it outside of school, Donnalyn decided to accept the challenge. At 13, she was the youngest student ever accepted at a local acting school for adults as there were not classes for children nearby. From there, she auditioned to be accepted at several acting schools and proceeded to be awarded with scholarships to attend them all, including one in New York City. Upon HS graduation, she was awarded a drama scholarship that enabled her to continue her studies in New York. After a brief stint at college, Donnalyn found she needed to follow her heart and relocate to Hollywood. After some close calls, she missed NYC and her family and so returned to pursue her career in New York but continues to call Los Angeles her ‘second home.’
During her performing career, she had toured the country doing theater, performed in films, TV and commercials. Because the business is so difficult and jobs so few and far between, she decided to take a part-time job to learn about the “business of show business” with a theatrical and music management company hoping it would help her get ahead. She immediately realized how much her creative back-round and business sense could help the existing clients and she enjoyed being able to share that with them. When a management position opened up at another company, she jumped at the opportunity even though that would mean giving up her ambition to work as an actress. After 2 years and a wealth of knowledge and contacts, Donnalyn decided it was time to start her own company. She felt that she needed to be able to give certain things to her clients that she wasn’t able to by working for someone else. She had a strong desire to help other performers not make the mistakes that she had, and help them to reach their dreams. She wanted her company to be based on strong relationships, commitments, and truth in a business where those were a rarity.
She took the wealth of knowledge she had accumulated and along with a leap of faith, went on her own. Donnalyn still retains her passion for performing but it is put to use in servicing her clients.
